Fascia and Emotional Trauma: How Myofascial Release Helps Eliminate Internal Tension

Fascia and Emotional Trauma

How Myofascial Release Helps Eliminate Internal Tension

Pain is not always obvious. It does not shout, but lives quietly inside, in the tension of the shoulders, in the labored breathing, in the feeling, that something is pulling from the inside. It is not physical, rather emotional state.

Our body remembers more than we think, and fascia stores these memories. They react to stress, fear, loss, or insult. When we don’t give ourselves space to experience an emotion, it settles in the tissues. But there is a solution, myofascial release, during which the specialist’s hand work not only with muscles, but also with deeper layers of connective tissues.

What is Fascia:
the Invisible Network of Our Body

Fascias are thin, but extremely strong connective tissues, that surround all our organs. They create a three-dimensional network, that permeates the flesh like an internal landscape. We don’t see them, but they shape posture and even emotional reactions. It is a magical “wrap” for muscles that transmits force, coordinates movement, and preserves the body’s memory.

Fascias are extremely sensitive. Injuries, stress, or strain leave their mark on them. When they are normal, the body moves without pain. But if there are failures in the system and their elasticity is lost, then stiffness, discomfort, and imbalance appear immediately.

Fascias can be compared to the Internet: they connect everything to everything, transmit signals, adapt to changes. Working with these connective tissues is not the usual physiotherapy, but a deep restoration of the body’s integrity. Their role is fundamental.

Therefore, the more we understand their purpose and functioning, the better we can take care of ourselves physically and emotionally.

How Fascia Stores Emotional Trauma and Pain?

Our body is a complex mechanism. And fascias are silent guardians of what we could not overcome. They react to emotional upheavals in the same way as to physical injuries: they contract, lose elasticity, and create tension zones. And then pain appears with no obvious cause: tests are normal, but there is a feeling that something “wrong” is happening to us.

This is not fiction. Fascias actually “remember” and accumulate all negativity. If nothing is done about it, the body adapts to such a state and creates a reality with new “norms” of well-being. But in reality it is an imbalance.

Fascial emotional stress can be manifested by the following signs:

These are all signals that you need to identify the pain. And when a specialist works on your connective tissues, it’s as if the body will get a breath of fresh air. After just one session, you will feel changes, and after completing the full course, you will receive real healing.

Myofascial Release:
the Path to Freedom of Body and Soul

Compressed fascia significantly reduces the quality of life. We experience stress 24/7, and we are not always aware of it. Myofascial release based massage is a technique, that restores natural lightness.

This is both massage and subtle communication with the body. The specialist finds the areas where the fascias are “stuck” and helps them to release and relax. The movements are slow, precise, careful, but very intensional and deep.

Careful work with the fascia helps:

Of course, after such results, your psychological state will automatically improve. You will remember what it is like to be free. Both: soul and body.

We know all the secrets of physical and psycho-emotional awakening, which you will feel after just a few sessions.

Head-to-Toes Body Alignment:
the KMIT Method for Deep Recovery

In the Massage Bliss and Bodywork studio, you will feel the changes from the first minute of the Head-to-Toes BodyAlignment massage, a service created according to the author’s method of Svitlana Kmit, which is the most detailed fascial therapy, based on the myofascial release . It includes readjustment of the body, the nervous system, overall circulation and the way of breathing.

The HEAD-TO-TOES BodyAlignment technique is a deep structural fascial work, that will help reveal all the hidden potential of your body by guiding it properly and naturally into a self-correct mode. With it, you will recover from the back of your head to your feet. This method is ideal for those who are overworked, chronically stressed, traumatized, or simply want to “play ahead” and prevent potential illnesses from manifesting.

During the session, you will experience:

There are no standard movements here, only knowledge and a complete understanding of your problems. With us, each procedure is a story about the care and health of the body.

Myofascial release based massage in our studio is a special ritual of returning to normal. It begins with our attentiveness to the client’s history and their trust in our expertise. That’s why the session takes place in several stages, so that the result is tangible and sustainable.

Stages of procedures:

  1. Preliminary evaluation. The first step is a careful inspection. The specialist observes your posture, movements, and breathing, goes over your massage intake form . In this way, you can determine the areas where tension has accumulated, and understand the cause of your discomfort. It helps to choose the most effective methods.
  2. Fabric preparation. Before the main work, the fascia is warmed up with light touches, stretches, and superficial movements to improve blood circulation and prepare the tissues for a deeper impact.
  3. Basic manual work. The main stage is a slow and precise effect on the fascial lines. The therapist uses friction, fascia-rolling,   gliding techniques, gentle rotations, and focused movements to loosen the clamps. Everything happens without drastic actions, but at the same time – some level of the discomfort might be present during the actual release, in the moment, but the result is already felt during the procedure.
  4. Fascial release. With special pressures and  fascial rolling, mobility in the joints improves, the feeling of “stiffness” disappears in the neck, shoulders, or lower back.
  5. Added cupping  therapy (depends on the service) . Myofascial decompression with either static or dynamic (gliding) cupping therapy , which helps the body to adapt to the new state and maintain stable results after the session.
  6. Final peace. At the end, a few minutes are reserved for resting in silence. It is necessary to lie down, discarding all thoughts, and allow the body to dissolve in peace.
Myofascial release based massage is an opportunity to relieve the burden of the daily routine, eliminate accumulated pain and regain ease.
